Smoke Puffing Out Of Oil Filler

Saturday I took my car to the local strip and did a few runs. Suddenly my low oil light came on. I was shocked because I know im not leaking oil since I just changed all seals on the front. I have a slight leak on the oil pan gasket but nothing major. I check the oil and had no oil on the dipstick. When I opened the oil filler cap to put oil in smoke just started billowing out. It seemed to be puffing out in sync with the engine rev. On the way back home it got worst. My PCV hose blew off of my valve cover. Now I have the same smoke comming from the exhaust soon after start up. It doesn't smell like oil or coolant though but it is whitish.

Were any of those runs on nitrous? The puffing out the filler cap is a classic symptom of blowby due to a melted piston, or a broken ring land.

Go ahead and do a leakdown test. More than likely you will discover you scratched cylinders and blow by is excessive. You will hear air escaping from the oil fill cap when the test fails.

All 3 runs were on nitrous. I was hopping it was just a head gasket. CRAP! Besides, doing a leakdown test on this car is next to imposible. I can barely change the spark plugs. Now you want me to stick a air hose in there!?

now hold on before everyone starts getting all frantic about a rebuild. it's also possible you only have bad valve guides which would also cause those exact symptoms. as said, do a leak down and also take a spring off of one of the valves and see if you can wiggle the valve stem back and forth. if there is excessive play then your guides are toast and more than likely you'll be having to get your heads redone. regardless it does sound like you will be tearing into the engine...

Smoke out the breather hole is known as black death for the motor. Like was said above either a broken ring or a hole in the piston. Time for a rebuild.

Run's with no oil forget the NO and you think it's valve guides.

Guess you'll have to explain that one.
