Smog Help

I've got a 96 z28 and i live in friggin cali so i'm having a hard time passing emmisions. It seems as though my mac y-pipe is causing me all my problems such as an SES light which fails me when i try to smog and the o2 sensors don't like my catalytic converters which fails me. I was wondering if i switched out my y-pipe with a stock y-pipe and left the mac headers and borla exhaust if that would solve my problems?

By the way if any of you 96 z28 owners have just put on a new y-pipe i would be interested in buying your stock one off of you. Just let me know. Also i am selling the car after i get it smogged so if anyone wants to make me an offer feal free, the car has 85K miles on it and runs perfect. check out some pics on my sh&tty website that got all screwed up.

thanks for all your help in advance guys.

Are you selling the car with the rims? Is it a six speed? The y-pipe should be ok if you have smog legal headers and y-pipe. I don't know why it would through an ses light.

I'm selling the car intact with everything on it. Its an A4, fully loaded (every option except t-tops).

My mechanic tells me that the computer is saying the O2 sensors are having problems, something having to do with them not heating up or other. I'm no mechanic so if someone would correct me i'd appreciate it.

and by the way....since the pictures on cardomain.com i have painted the calipers red and added camaro decals to the front ones....and i have tinted the windows all the way around. I love my car and will miss it but its just not practical for me and my situation any more....i'm going to get a truck to tow my new jet skis and throw my dogs in the back of. I spent over 5 grand on the car so i won't take less than 10k for it.

Update:

I passed smog on friday thank the lord!!!!! All i did was go to my mechanic, have him clear all my codes, then hook up some o2 simulators and she immediately passed smog at the test center next door.

So, now i'm on to selling the car. I live in san diego if anyone on here is interested. Take a look at my sig for pictures....or go to autotrader.com and put in 96 camaro and you'll find mine, its the dark green one with chrome c5s.
