Small Parts List: LT1 Heads, Intake, Cam Swap

I just wanted to run over some small stuff for a heads/intake swap and make sure this is what everyone else it using or having good luck with.

Head Gasket: Mr. Gasket or Impala would get my compression and quench where I want it, either one better for nitrous? I read Mr Gasket is Victor Reinz and that they are not recommended for nitrous. $40-45.

Head Bolts: ARP Head Bolt replacements. Studs seem like overkill and I hear the dont seal for crap on LT1's. $60-65

Intake Gasket: GMPP LT4 Race Gasket. I'm assuming this is what everyone uses for ported heads, I hear it mentioned alot since the port size is bigger, and it's cheaper than some stock application gaskets. $10-15.

Header Gaskets: I used Felpro 1406's when I did the headers years ago, I'm not sure if anything newer and/or worth the money has come out since then. $20

Pushrods Checker: I have seen a few online, trickflow and comp, any particular style that are easier to read or use? $10-15

Pushrods: I have two sets of one piece stock 7.200 lengthers, my next set will need to be shorter. I used Comp Mangums when I added the cam, again anything new or better that's worth the money? I see some folks using trickflow, of course there are Comp Hi-techs too. $50-100

Lifters: GMPP LS7 - From my understanding these are supposedly better than the stock LT1 lifters. I was just going to give mine a good one over and reuse them if I could, but I guess it might be cheap insurance over 110k+ stock lifters, still deciding if it's worth it. Everyone having good luck with them so far? With the stock PCM I cant get over 7200, so nothing crazy is necessary. $100-125

Timing Cover/Waterpump: If I swap the cam I'll likely just get a Felpro timing cover and waterpump gasket kit.

Restall Vigilante 3200rpm 4L80E converter: Free plus shipping, I've got to BS with them about nitrous and a possible new cam. It's looking like a bump to 3600 would be plenty with the bottle, the 3200 might even be good enough.

SFI Flexplate: Thinking about doing a better flexplate when I pull the converter. Just using the stocker right now, any good ones out there?

Rear Main Seal: Well the flexplate it out, I might has well fix that little oil leak. Any seal from the local parts shop will work?

Driveshaft: The shortened stocker isnt going to like hard launches with slicks, especially with nitrous. It's been reworked for 1350's on both ends, but I'm not sure how strong the stock tube is, and I dont want the driveshaft loop to have to do it's job going down the track. I know of a few names to get quotes from PST, Denny, Mark Williams...any others? Anyone ever have good luck with local driveshaft shops?

Am I missing anything? I already have Cloyes double roller set, CSI E-WP, ASP underdrive, Pro Mags, Isky Guideplates, Crane 10308 springs, ARP 7/16 studs, Madwolf tune, 39lb Cobra Injectors, fluids.

Plenty of people including myself have used the Impy gaskets with nitrous with no ill effects. It's a pain to retorque them after a few heat cycles and many will tell you it's not necessary, but I did it. How big of a shot are you going to run max?
Don't forget the thread sealant for the head bolts.

Edit: I run a Strange CM driveshaft. I think it was around $300, and is good to 800rwhp.

Retorque shouldnt be a problem, do the Mr. Gaskets need that too?

How big of a shot...well I'm looking at doing a plate system and I think the most they recommend is 200, so nothing over that. Probably 150, really depends on what the professionals suggest, I know most say not over 150 on stock steel downstairs. I have to call Nitrous Oulet and talk to them about plates vs dual nozzles.

I don't know if they need it or even if the Impy gaskets needed it either. Just seemed like a good idea and had read of guys retorqueing just to be safe.
A lot of people using the Nitrous Outlet plate lately. I love it and it makes for a clean install. I think they just offered a new kit version that has updated solenoids and hard lines too.
I think they recommend no higher than a 200 shot but mentioned a couple of guys that were running about a 225-250 shot with it.

I have never heard that Mr Gasket was made by Victor Reinz... I know its part of the company that also has Accel, Mallory, Lakewood, Holley(not sure), etc..
