Small backfires when I decell??

I think my car is running a bit rich, because sometimes I can smell fuel after I start my car. When I decell it will backfire slightly around 1K to 1.5K rpms. Just recently I threw a code for EGR. I threw that code a while ago and it ended up being IAC. Anything else I can check. Maybe the pintle on the IAC needs cleaned out.

Also, my gas mileage sucks in city. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had similar symptoms (rich idle, occasional popping from exhaust when letting off throttle, poor gas mileage) and what appears to have cured them was a new opti.

Any other ideas. How can I lean out the mix. I have my woman's laptop also. What could I use since I don't have an autoXray. There also is no any surging or studdering.

thanx
