Removing the cats wakes it up quite a bit.People tell me my car is loud.Yet I dont think it is.With the windows down it does rattle your eardrums.

So what about removing the cats vs getting high flow cats?

Putting an offroad pipe in place of the cat will make the car a LOT louder at WOT, but it won't be much (if any) different at idle and at part-throttle rpms around town. That is what happened when I used to have an offroad pipe with my set-up before I ended up welding in a highflow cat because I didn't like the tinny sound of the ORP...

But re-read my post again...If you want your current set-up a lot louder at idle and down low, you're going to need to switch cat-back systems or mufflers to something much louder (an open cutout also works great like I said). Or you'll have to install a choppy cam to hear the 2OTL wake up at idle...

I totally agree with that. With my ORP it is a little louder at idle but nothing too bad. Once you get WOT, it screams!

I highly recommend using a cutout, especially one with an electric valve - then you can have it as loud as you want.
