Slp Totl

Im considering getting an SLP totl for my car. What is the difference in sound and performance between a totl that comes off an SS and the one that you buy directly from SLP. Also, if the sound from the totl is not to my liking is it easy to change the muffler to say a Hooker.

The one from the factory has a silencer on it and is quiet. The aftermarket versions do not have the silencer and are louder but not loud. The sound is clean, low, and agressive. It is one of the best sounding systems when combined with headers. I like it.

The Factory version of the TOL exhaust has the "cone of Silence" as it is called. As mentioned above the aftermarket systems dont have it and put out a healthy rumble.

I gave my brother a TOTL that I had sitting around and he put it on his 96 T/A. Sounds very nice. He has SLP Shorties and 3" cat back.

The difference between the SS version and the other version of the 2OTL I think is pretty substantial. My friend has a '96SS and his exhaust is pretty quiet compared to mine.

I did quite a bit of research on several exhaust systems (thanks to this board) and was glad that I did, because I absolutely love my 2OTL. It is low and rumbly (somewhat quiet) at idle and crusin down the highway, but get into the the throttle and OHHH BABY!!!!!! It sounds GREAT. Sounds even better with headers from what I hear.

I replaced my old Flowmaster with the SLP 2OTL about a month ago and couldn't be happier. I especially like the sound with long tubes I've got a video of somone elses car with the SLP 2OTL if you want it.

Love mine too. Put them on last year when my flowmaster finally kicked the bucket. I'm running them with headers and an off-road pipe and it sounds great! Definitely louder than a system with the cat (or cats). Matter of fact I'm thinking of getting a high flow cat just to quiet it up some and make the car legal when driving in NY.
