SLP thermostat

I have installed 2 of these now, and neither open at 160, my car runs at exactly at 180 according to scans. I was wondering of there is another option or what others are doing.

Thanks
Scott

i didnt think having a 160 thermostat meant it will run at 160. the thermostat just opens at 160. my 160 allows the temp to run at 175.. they came stock with hotter thermostats( i think 180 or so ) and ran 210.

160 degree thermostats beging to open at 160 degrees, they aren't fully opened at 160 degrees. With a becool radiator and my hypertech 160 degree thermostat my car runs at 169 according to my scanmaster with the fans on or on the highway.

With 160 and stock radiator, coolest it will run is a little under 185 (according to the dashboard) going at highway speeds.

In the summer heat, that sounds normal. If you had a 180 thermostat, you would be running at about 200.
