Re: slp take off shocks and DMS lowering springs

I dunno know why not...I have DMS springs, no probs with them at all, love 'em in fact. I used OEM replacement (Monroe) gas shocks, but I see no reason why the stock GM shocks (SLp take offs are the stock DeCarbon's aren't they?) wont work with the DMS springs. The ride height change of the DMS springs is not that severe that shock travel range becomes an issue IMO

ps I would expect the mod to move this to suspension, not LT-1 tech BTW

Re: slp take off shocks and DMS lowering springs

It'll work but the question should be "how well".

The take-offs are just stock shocks. These things are almost inadequate with stock springs. They also have a short life span, especially when trying to control higher spring rates. If you're short on cash and need something to get you by, the take-offs will work. If you want the most out of your suspension and something more durable, I would invest in quality shocks.

All IMO but the shocks are the most important suspension components. Don't skimp there! No need to get exotic either. Properly tuned Bilsteins are head and shoulders above stock shock absorbers.

If I had to choose between poor springs/excellent shocks and excellent springs/poor shocks, I would take the good shocks.

If your goals are purely aesthetic and not performance, disregard my comments

21,000 miles on my DMS coils and SLP decarbons. The ride is the same as when I installed. Great deal if your on a budget. Bilstiens one of these days.

I have thousands of miles on that combo too. I don't have a problem with the ride. If the money were there, i'd obviously get different shocks but hey. DMS springs give the car a nice look, but I feel like the front is about a half inch lower than I'd like (when looking at the wheel to fender gap).

DMS designed theyre springs to have a rake. I just removed my rear spring isolater and it leveled it up. DMS is based right here in thousand oaks. So they have great service. Bryce delivered the spring to me personally.

They'll work about as well as a heads/cam car would with a stock tune.
