SLP Loudmouth Installation

Particularly speaking, the hanger on the passenger side tail pipe. What is the deal with that?? I had a welded hanger on the old flowmaster system, but the SLP LM has a plate with holes in it, no hanger.

I'm going to step out on a limb here and assume that it was designed to use the factory hanger setup, meaning I need to order the hagner/nut assembly to bolt into the SLP exhaust. Would that be right?

Re: SLP Loudmouth Installation

I just installed this system on my 96. You need the installation kit for $30 to get the right hangers and such. On the passenger side you use the stock rubber isolator thing that was used with the stock exhaust, and in the installation kit you get a small hanger that bolts on to the "y/tailpipe" section of the loudmouth. If you are handy with steel you could probably bend and weld something up. But it fit like a glove with the installation kit. Hope that helps Hope you like the LM, i get compliments on mine all the time!

Re: SLP Loudmouth Installation

Would that be THIS kit here, even though it states it's only for 96-97 LT1 cars?

Would anyone happen to have a pic of the hanger in question, installed or uninstalled??

Re: SLP Loudmouth Installation

thats because the other install kit, comes with an s-pipe too bolt up too the factory y-pipe on single cat cars

other then that, both kits hangers are the same and that $30 one is what you need

or some coat hanger and pliers too twist it up nice and tight

Well, I think I'm just going to break down and get the full install kit. I don't feel like messing with the Magnaflow S-Pipe I got for free to get it to fit when I can just pay an extra $40 and get EVERYTHING I need. Dang it.

Re: SLP Loudmouth Installation

that is the kit that i used. I wouldn't rig it with coat hangers and such, just spend the $30 and get it installed the rightway the first time!!

Nope. Aparrently overnight shipping isn't overnight shipping anymore, even when ordered on Friday, paid $35 shipping for, and TByrne said they had in stock.
