SLP Loudmouth
SLP Loudmouth
Well after getting various opinions on making my exhaust louder i think i may swap out the older borla for a loudmouth. I have a few questions first though. Will switching out my cat-back screw up my dynotune due to the huge back pressure difference between the borla and the loudmouth? Will switching set-ups change my power at all for the better or worse or will it be pretty much the same? Also is there anyone out there running a simalar set-up as me that can tell me how they liked it and how loud it was? Thanks in advance
Personnally, I like the loudmouth waayyyy better than borla. Although I think GMMG is by far the best sounding. Don't worry about performance none of the aftermarket exhausts are that much different as far as performance goes.
To clarify a little more the Borla i have is the older one which does not have a restriction plates. My whole reasoning for going for the loudmouth is that my car is just way too quiet. My friends stock 94 Trans Am is louder then my car. My other option was just to get a cut-out. The cutout is cheap but my friend with the TA will be buying my Borla from me if i dump it and that will cover the price Loudmouth so i can go either way. Seems like there's mixed opinions on the loudmouth. So what do you guys think...cutout with borla or loudmouth?
Is the loudmouth insanely loud on an otherwise stock LT1? I've got an ever increasing exhaust leak on my car, so I'm going to have to do something about it soon, and figure I might as well do a catback at this time. Since nobody could answer my question as to the part number needed for the Magnaflow catback, I've started looking at a few others including the loudmouth.
One of the reasons I like the idea of the loudmouth is that it's got to be a lot lighter than most other catbacks, plus I bet this system is very durable for those of us who drive all year round (including winters on salted roads).

For the most part, I liked the sound of the LM (on a stock vehicle)--but I think it would get old if you drove it on a daily basis. I was debating on going with the LM, but I think I'm going to go with the Hooker because I'm afraid it will just be too loud when I put the LT's on.
The Formula is my daily driver, so perhaps this isn't the system for me if it's going to be annoying loud all the time. But also, with my car being automatic, it's possible to drive to work and never go above 2000rpm as well, and if traffic doesn't move too fast on the highway, it might not even see above 1500rpm too often. I guess I'll have to listen to one in person before making the decision.
if you have stock manifolds you should be fine, it gets insanley loud once you step on it, which isnt a bad thing!
makes it sound like a nascar, but thats what ive heard comming out of longtubes and no cats. on a stock car youll be fine otherwise why woudl it be 50 state legal.
