I would go with 1". I did and when I first had SLPs installed, one backed out about1/8". Had they been 3/4" I'd have probably lost it. JMHO

jegs told me 3/4, so thats what i got. I got the manifolds off tonight, what a BEOTCHHHHH!!! It just seemed that the stock ones were a lot longer. The headers are being picked up tomorrow from the coating place, so i can compare the flange thickness to the manifold thickness then. I guess you have to reuse the bolt for teh alternator mount anyways.

Will i definitly need to disconnect the steering linkage? if so where?

thanks in advance.

disconnecting the steering is easy and it might not be necessary, but will definatley help het the headers in there. Just remove a few bolts on the u-joint and yer done.

I used 1" bolts with my JBA headers.

I used 1 inch Stage 8s and you don,t need the alternator bracket that bolts to the manifold bolt. I left mine out. Three is plenty with the serpentine system.
Steering linkage looks easy but I found this to be the hardest part of my LT install. Just undo the top bolt and leave the bottom alone, then after header is in, line the linkage back up and pry it back on, this is how I did it.
