Thumbs up SLP Headers, INstalled!

After a PITA install, they are done. And i love them!
Where i live theres emissions so i need something thats legal. And SLPs headers looked like the best to get me some power and stay legal. SOTP Feel Is great on this product, i recomend them to anyone looking to stay legal. Pass Side, Starter had to come off along with alternater got the header in from the bottom. Driver side Oil filter was off, Stearing linkage off, motor mount off and jacked up about 6 inches, header in from the top. All and all it was about a 20 hour job with my and a freind on some jack stands.. Had there been a lift it woulda been a TON easier.

Looking for emissions legal headers, or just dont want long tubes. GET THESE! Oh yeah and the sound quality with Loudmouth and the headers is AMAZING!

RE: PLUG ACCESS

That is a good question. I have JBA's & plug access is still a bi-otch, although better than stock.

Plug access is better than stock but it still is pretty bad in some areas (#5).

Nothing comes close to MACs for plug access. I've worked on the SLPs, and they are all equally evil.

I am not convinced you sacrafice much with the 1 5/8th mid mac to a 1 3/4 shorty SLP.

True plug access is better w/Mac but what you sacrifice is the emission legality.

Mac is not 50 state legal.

I believe MACs are also smaller dia (1 5/8) compared to the SLP 1 3/4 which might account for a little tighter access than the MACs. JMHO

I don't know if you can get them anywhere else but SLP, however there are some who have switched to LTs and have them for sale on this site once in awhile.

If you can find a used set (not banged up) and even if they aren't coated, you can have them cleaned up and coated somewhere else and wind up with a pretty good deal.

Just make sure they are the correct headers. JMHO

MAC's are great headers none the less, up to 350rw. I'm thinking the starter dosen't need to come off for the headers but we'll see when I pop them in.

Also for plug access, did you have to go over top or were you able to go through the stock loomes? I've heard some things about SLP's being bad *** about frying wires when they go through the stock loomes.

NO looms at all i have MSD 8.5mm wires so they wouldnt fit in the stock looms anyway.. i have em routed quite nicely to where they touch nothing The #5 plug is kinda a bi-otch but the rest are fairly easy. Can do em all from the top. and the coating in them is real nice. Much better plug access then stockers no doubt
