SLP header install

I am halfway through installing SLP "midlength" headers on my car. I got everything off; manifolds, EGR, AIR and i took all the spark plugs out. Yet, I still can not fit the god damn headers in to tighten them down for the life of me. Is there a special trick to this? Do I have to take apart more ****? Thanks for your time.

Mike

Edit: I can post pics if needed.

Are you having a hard time getting them in the car, or bolting them in place. I had a hard time bolting them in place, and i even had the motor out of the car. LOL You might have to remove the steering saft, not a big deal though.

Yes, I've tried going in from the bottom AND top on both sides, I can't get them into place on either side. Without the steering linkage the driver side would be easy. I guess removing that is the only choice.

I bought my headers used and they don't have the bolts that connect the y-pipe to the headers. Can someone tell me what size that is?

passenger side: work it in from the bottom. It's a bitch. You have to have the starter off, you know that right.

Driver side:
Remove the steering linkage. Loosen the bolt(or two) that holds the ABS/brake lines in place. This. Mine dropped in from the top quite easily then.

Note: I did have my air pump removed at that time, although the mounting bracket was still on the block then. That *might* make a difference if that will work for you or not.

Good luck
