Since I live in a desert, would UNCOATED pacesetter lt's work????

Well after going to the track these last couple of weeks I think that I need to go ahead and order some headers to help myself out with my top end. I slaughter people off the line but they end up coming back at me. So I think I am looking at ordering Pacesetter Headers($289) and the Pacesetter y-pipe($125). I saw the coated pacesetter headers today and they look really good.

I raced a guy with a m6 with Moroso intake, 1le elbow, Pacesetter Lt's and y-pipe with open headers and he beat me. I pulled on him a good 1.5 car lengths but he just had the extra hp from the pacesetter lt's to come back on me and beat me, I was at his rear tire.

Would it be alright to get the uncoated headers and y-pipe since I live in a desert with almost no humidity. As well I can use the slp s-pipe to connect the y-pipe to my hooker catback right??

They're still going to rust, regardless. But they'll last through 10 years of rust, so go ahead. You'll need a Y pipe, not an S pipe. Your catback will need to be cut, and your Y-pipe bolted with flanges, or welded to the catback.

I would get them coated, that would also lower your underhood temps alot and help with heat soak.

Yeah, exactly what I was going to say. They may not rust too bad, but in the desert, with uncoated headers, your temps are going to be

Well I do have the fan swith installed as well as a 160 t-stat and the car temperature never rises above 185, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Your fan switch won't help with underhood temps caused by the heat radiation from the headers. Coated ones won't radiate as much heat.

I have uncoated headers. Theres spots of surface rust on them, but nothign that cant be easily cleaned up. Ive never burnt a plug wire, but they do get hot.
