simple manifold question...

ok guys i know this has probably been beaten to death...but i am going to make this as simple and conclusive as possible...

are there gains to be had when doing this mod...

first i already have lt1 heads fully ported and polished, but nonetheless they are lt1.

the intake manifold i have is currently powder coated but totally stock other than that.

i have seen on ebay for example, lt1 manifolds made to be clones of lt4 intakes...this is great because it will still sit right back on the heads without machining for it to properly seat right. (such is the case with a real lt4 intake)

however, assuming that the "new lt4-clone intake" is simply powder coated red, for looks, and gasket-match ported (the runners are hogged out pretty nicely)...WOULD THIS BE A MOD WORTH DOING??

if so what would be a fair price for whatever the mod is worth.
$100? $200 $500?????

i can currently have it done right exactly 200..if that matters

thanks a ton...get back with some opinions, namely if there is more hp to be had, lets not debate the looks here, granted the red might look nice and of course resemble the lt4...

So you're asking if its worth it to port match your intake to your heads? Yes, of course it is. Also, if they aren't already, gasket match your exhaust ports on the heads to your header gasket.

i would send it off to Jordon Musser and let him port it out for you, rather then take a chance on an EBAY piece IMO

ok well who is jordan musser than or any other reliable source for serious porting and gasket matching?? any good suggestions??

and yes to sum up the question, pretend you have a fully bolt on motor. now port and polish the heads pretty thoroughly. to finish off the project, would it be worth it to work out the intake manifold also with some sort of port job on the runners, etc...

some people say its a waste of time or money, but it seems like the opposite is true. its just weird that the aftermarket has not offered anything effective i guess??

any more ideas people?

thanks, oh and eric, dont worry etown will be here in just a month!!!! cant wait to get back (i am in florence right now, train to venice tomorrow...
