Hee hee..I love this talk about side pipes I had them oem on my 67 BB Vette. The sound was killer!. No mufflers, just chambered pipes. Also, no sweat about getting burned. Only the cheap aftermarket side pipes would burn you, not the oem pipes from GM. I love side pipes, but I don't know how they would work on an F-Body.

I was thinking about this too. Since I already have a WW GFX kit I would just have to "notch" the side pieces and run a tip though it. I have heard problems with the exhaust ruining rims though....

Also, there's no turning or discoloration problem with the rear rims. I've been running this setup for approx 10 months.

Did those when I was a kid. Camaro 1968. Wouldn't evne consider it again. Burnt myself more than a few times, passengers were constantly burning themselves, loud as He^%$. Big ground clearnace problems. Didn't fit really nice. Had to do a bit of banging bending to get things to line up. Twisted when the motor revved under load, making all kinds of creaking and groaning noises.

Bleh!

YMMV

Have I seen your car off of HWY6 at a small car show? If not yours...it was identical to it .

Dats me

I live 'bout 3-4 miles down 6 from the Firestone show, so I swing by every now and then. Holler at me if you see me out.

1LEThumper had a side-exit setup on his true duals. I've gotta see if I can find a pic of it anywhere online.

It is do able but I don't think it would be worth it. My friend as a Stang with a California Concept kit on it and I looked under the car. I don't think the camaro has enough to do this.

First of all you would need true dual exhust, then you would have to mount both mufflers in the rear (where to stock one is now) then would have to run pipes back up to the side. This would be 4 pipes comeing over the axle and I don't think the camaro has that kind of room.

Then you would have to do some heat shielding and some body work to the side of the car.

You dont need body shielding and there's plenty of room. There are a variety of insert mufflers that can be used that take up no additional room at all, or there's always dynomax bullets. I had to do a little body clearancing for my driver side cat and for my cutouts - nothing major though.
