Which side of a Percy's Aluminum gasket faces the head?

It seems like one side is an "inny" and one side is an "outy". Which side should face the head and which the header??

My SCE copper gaskets had a crush collar also. The raised part faces the header.

I had a bad experience with mr. gasket copperseals and 94 style SLP midlengths. The crush collar overlapped with the port and 'kinked' if you will. It wouldn't fully seal because of that. You might want to check that the crush collar will be on the flange everywhere.

It definitely is on the Jet Hots. The flange is very beefy on them.. the gaskets don't protrude at all below the flange. And the gaskets are easily large enough where the crush collar surrounds the port. Thanks for the advice though, I'm glad I remembered to check mine.

It's not a crush collar like the copperseals, I've seen them before. It seems that one side is indented and one is normal... The collar on the copperseals is very distinguishable.

I dont see why the same principle wouldn't apply....

They should be similar to my Earl's. The edges of the aluminum steel around the ports are beveled so the lead center can only go in one way(also holds it in place). I made the mistake of just slapping them together the first time and ruined a set of inserts. I installed mine w/ the bevel facing in, thus locking the insert between the edge of the bevel and the face of the head.

I will try it how percy's says to do it. If it doesn't cure the leak I'm going to be VERY angry...
