Shouldnt I be faster??

i have mods in sig as well as the xe 224 230 @ 112 camshaft. i am running 13.2's @ 108 all night with a 2.1 60 ft. i see many other people trapping higher and running faster with the same short time. here are some of my ideas that may in fact be slowing me down.

- SLP CAI filters havnt been cleaned since the intake went on (2 years ago)

- 02's unplugged (burned some wiring and its just a headache i dont feel like getting into...car still gets 20+ on the highway after the tune. Besides im pretty sure 02's arent used in WOT. Correct?)

- I have the worlds quietest cam'd LT1. The dynomax super turbos are so quiet its like stock. they CANT be helping me any.

- I dont powershift. no WOT shifts here....heard to many horror stories.

Everything else on the car seems fine. before the cam i dyno's 300/330 w/ boltons and the xpipe setup.

I REALLY want 110+ traps on motor and am kind of disappointed.

Dont compare your times to those off the board. Use other people that run at the same track you do as a comparison, to many variables come into playwhen you start looking at what people in other parts of the country run. Altitude, density altitude, track prep., etc. Your times seem pretty decent to me, O2's dont come into effect during WOT, but you need to get that fixed, as it could still have an affect. Fix your o2 problem, clean the filter and go back again, practice makes perfect.

Powershifting ... YUCK

I forget who it was, but one of the more experienced guys on this board who takes it to the track often said it was in his best experience to only gain about .2 in the 1/4 from powershifting. To me, .2 ISNT worth a Engine/tranny/clutch/wahtever else it puts stress on. Maybe if i was running someone for money though

Its a very GOOD thing not to. All it does is cause damage. For example, a buddy of mine thought it would be a great idea to powershift in his gt while racing a guy on the street and he ended up leaving his rear-end behind. One of many things that it adds stress too.

Just practice your launch and shifts and you will do better

first if you don't have any head work your mph is fine. You have to get that 60' down to 1.7s. I have a bolton car and went 13.042. MY 60' time was 1.76. My mph was only 103 and change. ET is all in the short time. with your mph I have seen people go into the 12s no problem. And like I said no head work 108 is good I think. With some head work you may see 110 maybe better. Just my 2cents

Re: Shouldnt I be faster??

Hmmmm, my traps dropped from high 111's down to 108 once when i had the ebrake on at the line to keep from rolling backwards (beaver springs sucks) and didn't get it fully disengaged. Was your parking brake on? J/K

First off I do not claim to be a tuning expert. Your correct that O2 short term fuel trim values aren't used at WOT. However, if you have split BLMs(the long term value that come from the O2s) or indicated(maybe falsly) lean condition before going WOT it can affect the power enrichment. I have no idea what happens to your BLMs when your O2s are unplugged though. I would get that fixed though before looking much furthur. Maybe one of the resident experts can say something about this or correct me if i'm wrong

Anytime you let off the gas your not putting power down and lessening traps, increasing ET. Man up if you want to maximize your performance

by powershifting do yall mean keep the gas on the floor while shifting? if so, i laugh at how often you have to replace your tranny, clutch, rearend
I have done that once at the track and it actually worsened my time (just headers and exhaust at the time) but I have even replaced clutch, shift fork and syncros, and 3rd gear in my transmission and I am quite easy on it... 72k miles though, tranny went out at like 60k after the kevlar clutch at 50k. I would hate to see how long a power shifting transmission would last?? anyone?

I used to do it all the time and my engine, tranny, rear end all have over 209k on them now in my 97Z. Usually I would do 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th. I sometimes would do 2nd to 3rd just depended. If your fast enough no one can even tell.
