Should we have springs mounts on the rear spring? Lower and upper?????

I have a feeling that is what squeaks when I hit small bumps. Is there anything I can do about it? Are we supposed to have rubber mounts on the bottom where the springs rests on the axle housing because I don't have one on the bottom and I'm not sure about the top, if I do it didn't come out when I did my suspension?? Is there anything I can spray or a mount I can buy for it so the springs is not metal 2 metal on the axle housing???

um....theres supposed to be a spring isolator on the bottom, not sure about the top. mine squeaks but thats only because the spring isolator is corroding. i used grease on it which worked for about 5 days but grease just makes it wear down faster.

i have seen both with and with out insulators on the lower part of the spring.... Gm has a tech bulletin saying to install insulators for spring noise i dont have the part number handy but i should get it monday when i go back to work as far as a quick fix goto your local autozone/kragen or parts place and get some antiseize compound then raise your vehicle by the frame letting the rear end hang and slather the lower portion of the spring where it meets the rear end this should eliminate the noise also there IS an insulator at the top or there should be if you didnt lose it or remove it...

I think I'll try putting some hose around the bottom coil AND using the antiseize.
