Arrow Should I reset my valve lash?

I installed a 233/239 cam recently and used Pro Magnum non self aligning rockers, 7/16" studs, gm guideplates, 1 pc comp pushrods and comp R lifters.
I turned the nut on the lifters about half turn past the point where I felt some drag on the pushrod. (I was turning the pushrod with one hand and hand tightening the nut on the rocker with the other.)

I drove the car about 3-400 miles since and I didn't have any problems. Pulls real strong.

I heard you're supposed to go 1/8 to 1/4 turn with comp Rs. So since it's very likely that I will be dynotuning my car later this week, should I bother readjusting them? It's cold outside and I'd rather not, but I will if I have to.
Thanks!

I gave 1/4 turn past zero lash on mine's. Put about 2K miles on it already. Haven't readjusting them for the fact it's getting cold out side. No problems yet. But if you're gonna spend the $$$ for a dyno tune, might as well readjust so you'll know everything is in good working order.

I will be dyno tuning it so I guess I can afford to charge myself twice.

Thanks for the reply. I will probably do it tomorrow.

I adjusted mine with the car running. That was the only way I could get rid of the knock retard. I loosen one by one til I heard the valve tic. Then I tighten til it stopped then proceeded another 1/4 turn and locked down. 3 had come loose before I started adjusting so I thought that where the knock come from but it wasnt so thats why I proceeded to do them all with the car running.

Loctite?

No, this is not the proper way to do it, assuming that is that you are running Pro Mags.

Madwolf: At least check them to make sure none have backed off. When I did my friend's cam we did 1/8 past 0 on Comp Rs and its been ok, so you're probably ok.

The surefire way to get them to never loosen is this. If you are doing a SMALL amount of preload, like 1/8 turn, find ZERO LASH and set the poly lock. Don't tighten it much, just turn it till it touches the top of the stud. THEN and only then, make your 1/8 turn. This will put a fair amount of preload between the stud and rocker nut. There will be enough tension that it will never back off. We never could get them to stay put just poly locking them with an allen wrench.
