Are you able to tell if the PCM is pulling timing because of knock?

If you don't have a way to log the PCM to see if it is pulling timing, you'll be wasting your money.

If it is pulling timing out, it will work wonders.

Re: should i get a lt4 km????

Its used on LT4 corvettes because they have a noisier valve train. The LT4 KM filters out "false knock". Most people that have headers or a louder exhaust get one because the LT1 KM is picking up false knock and retarding the timeing, witch decreases performance.

IMO, exhaust does not cause false knock.

Not to hijack, but I have the 1.6RR and loud exaust. I only pick up knock under loads(going up hills in higher gear, ect.), but not under normal driving. Do I need the module, or is my system working properly. I am also supercharged.

I was gonna post a link to Brents install page but none of his LT4 km pages work. I guess i should of known all those pages wouldn't of lasted forever.

The module is relatively cheap, plugs into your PCM fairly easily and is better at distinguishing real knock from false knock.

Worst case situation is; it does nothing and you wasted your 30-40 bucks, or whatever the silly thing costs these days.

It isn't a waste of money if you decide to get new/noisier valvetrain.

It won't fix it.
Get the retard tuned out or get the resistor and put in it if ya are sure it's false knock. Headers, roller rocker's and anything else(noise) that it(LT1-LT4 KM) wasn't tuned for will pull timing

For the 40.00 that those cost, it won't break your wallet and will be a good supporting mod for if you ever decide to upgrade your cam and rockers.

I was considering ordering one but I've also heard that the LT4 KM might not be enough..? resistance? to stop the timing retard if you have a really loud engine.. I know some say to put a resistor in, I looked around for just a moment, but saw nothing about how many Ohm's it was suppose to be and where to put it.
