should i ditch the 4.10's and go 3.73's???
I run 3.73s with a manual. I'm very happy with them. I'm going with a torquer cam which peaks near stock like the zz3 so they will be better for my powerband in the 1/4 mi than 4.10s (well with weight reduction i might outrun the 4.10).
However, with our cars having 6 speeds there is no doubt that the 4.10s are better top end. Look at it this way, your shift points in terms of rpm drop do not change since they are determined by the tranny. The rear end is lowering all of them down and since you still won't be able to wind out 6th your better off with the lower gear at every speed, no doubt about that. For me though, first gear is already traction limited and i certainly don't want to shift to 5th in the 1/4 mi so 4.10's are a bit much.
