Shop tightened oil filter too much, screwdriver method no go, HELP!!!

So when i attempted to get my second rebuild done that resulted in failure, i figured i would change the oil on my car for the drive home so i could do my 3rd and final rebuild and do it right.

Well the filter was on way too tight, some MIGHTY branded one or some ****, hella short filter, no room to get to it.

I tried taking it off with my hands, then one of the rubber circle grip things, tried this other tool with teeth but it wouldn't go around the filter.

Then i tried the screwdriver method and all it did was RIP APART the oil filter.

Now i have this oil filter that is all damaged with a few big holes in it and at the bottom.

WHAT CAN I DO, WHAT SUGGESTIONS ARE THERE????

thanks
Z

A very LARGE pair of channel locks reaching straight up front the bottom and gripping the sides usually works.

Did you put the screw driver all the way thur the middle? If it doesnt come out the other side it usually wont work.

You have to use a very large screw driver about 1 foot long, and poke it all the way through the other side, then twist and twist... the metal should start to twist till it eventually is twisted so much that it can't tist anymore, then keep turning till it unscrews... worked for me.
