Shoebox/Ingneer Electrical fire help.

so we did a FULL motor swap, cam, LT's etc.

we started it and one of the wires right next to the distribution box started smoking bad after 5 min.s, we also noticed the alternator gauge was jumping around.

So we checked the wires and only one was hot, we then cut that one free from the one other one that it was attached to and it lead us to the coolent fan 1 and coolent fan 2 relays.

we replaced the higher fan with one from a front end wrecked car so we wouldn't have to hack up another fan for the electric water pump. So I unplugged it thinking that it could be fried, we started the car and touched the wire and it sparked like a TIG welder.

So I then tried again with the coolent 2 relay out, it sparked and jumped the gauge, I tried the same with the coolent fan 1 relay and everything seemed cool, no reaction.

So here we poke and pry at it, I don't know which fan is one and which fan is 2, and I don't know what would have caused this in the first place.

Any help would be greatly helpful due to the fact I'd rather be worrying about valvetrain, and tuning, and breaking in.

Thank you.

disregard, we linked it to the fan out of the wreaked car, don't know how exactly that happened, it wasen't that bad of a wreak...

we put in a in line 25 amp fuse and it blew out on the old fan, plugged in a new one and it was good. *shrug*

now I just need a ypipe because a 847 with open LT's is a evil sounding SOB
