Shoebox..HELP!!! New 383 w/ a fuel LEAK!
ok just got my 383 in the car this last weekend and it fired up and ran great, not missing, ticking nothing! i broke in the motor then took it on a couple mile drives..(giving each friend of mine a ride that helped me put it in) then i changed oil and filter..all is good till it is sitting there idling and your about ready to pass out from the fumes...i jack the car up and get under neath it to find fresh gas running down my passanger side y pipe. I lowered it back to to work on other things thinking it may just be some unburnt gas that has collected because the cat was gutted. well from the top of the engine compartment i can see gas dripping on the passanger side O2 plastic plugin.
All injectors are in good, fuel lines are on the intake ok... i wonder what was going on when i went through 1/2 a tank inless than an hour..
i have a friend that is going to work on it while i am at work..any ideas will be great! Its just strange how all of the fuel lines etc are on the drivers side...and its leaking on the passanger side???

I'd still double check the injectors on the pass side. You might have a couple of them that didn't seat all the way, and that combined with the fuel pressure, might have popped them out just a bit. The only other thing that I could think of it you some how have a small leak on the fuel rail. Could be a pin hole. I'd look at the injectors though. Fuel rail and injectors are the only things it could be on the pass side. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator came loose and is spraying gas towards that side. Only things I could think of.

check injectors, check fuel lines to make sure they are seated over stell line at regulator. sounds like you should be able to trace it. i would guess one of your o rings got cut when installing rail. did you put a dab of oil on o ring before installing it always helps it to slide in.

no shoe your just THE EXPERT!

i always have to ask the experts when i am on ruff ground i'm just more puzzled than every..i was thinking man if a 383 gets this kind of mileage (1/2 tank in less than an hour)...i'm gonna have to sell it!

I don't know why you need experts to find a fuel leak. Just have someone turn on the key while you look in the engine bay for fuel leaking out. It should be pretty obvious. I would look at leaking injector O rings.
