Shoebox ??

Can't seem to get any responces.

I don't know how or if GM fixed the DS vbib. problem on my 97SS. Couldn't get an answer from dealer.

Anyway, with my new shortblock and 4.10s I believe it would be a good idea to get another DS, just in case.

But which one:

1le ($267.00 shipped)
Ls1
LPE 3.5"

Thanks for your input.

I opted for the 1le... apparently, it has a thicker wall than the LS1 even though it is only 2.75" as compared to 3" for the LS1. The LPE is overkill but it obviously would not hurt you.

The 4.10s will add some speed to the d/s. Any imbalance will be more noticeable. As for size of the LPE, take a look under the car to see if it would cause any problems with your exhaust. Take a measurement to the nearest thing it might contact.

I don't know the specs of the LPE, but the 1LE is stronger than the LS1.

Thanks Shoe: I think I'll get the 1le. $220.00 seems like a pretty good price and I shouldn't have to sell too many pencils before I can order.

Checked with GM PartsDirct. They want damn near $50.00 for S&H. So I'm going with Sallee Chevy here in Oregon. $255.00 plus $12.00 S&H.

Same difference. I just feel better knowing I didn't get screwed on the S&H.

No way a 12 LB DS should cost $50.00 for S&H.

I bought a new Lt1 Short block 4-bolt main from Sallee for 1650 plus $100.00 for S & H.

Good place to get After Market Chevy stuff. JMHO
