Hmm, i didn't go off the PCM, i used the wire that went to the coil. There is more room there.

I thought the wire was white, but maybe there is a year difference, you could try a search. To answer your question though, you can get splice in connectors made by 3M. Or you can cut the insulation back with a knife and just wrap a wire around there and tape it back up. There is plenty of room there, it's a wire I think that is the best place to splice in because your right at the point to run the wire through the firewall gromet behind the PCM.

good luck,

I'm curious as to which shift light you have. I'm planning on getting one. I just want a light and keep the stock tach.

I spliced into my factory tach wire at the guage cluster when I installed my Autometer shift Lite. I use the dash tach for normal driving and tuning, but I use the shift light when I'm racing. This arrangement has worked great for over 3 years.

There is a huge pic of my harlan shiftlight installed. It definitly takes him forever to ship those things, but it's worth the wait. No pills to buy and it works awesome and is cheap.

I agree with frank, a shiftlight is definitly the way to go, not one of those big ridiculous ricer tachs. Those things are eyesores and you have to screw up your dash to install it securely.

I thougth it would be too much of a pain to find the wire under the dash, thats why i went to the pcm and just ran it accross the firewall on teh inside. I picked up the power from the fusepanel right there too and grounded it down below the brakepedel where there was already a ground for something else located.

haha, yeah, sorry dialuppers. I was to lazy to resize it.

I'm warning you that it will not ship in the time that he says it will on his site, but you will get it.......eventually........
There are a couple of long threads about this, but everyone is happy once they get them.

I've seen some people install them in that spot but cut out the little vent vanes. I kept my vent vane intact and just wrapped some electrical tape aroung there neatly to bring it up to the diameter of the hole. I trimmed it with a razor since that picture. I love the thing, i just wish it went off more often since it looks so damn cool, he he

Did you look for white 13 on the 'Red' harness of the PCM??? There is a grommet throught the firewall right behind the PCM and that is where you'll want to go through anyways. Unless this is a year difference issue, that one should be easy to find.
