Shift Light Install (MALF 42: EST GROUND)

Today i installed a harlan shift light and it works great, But after i installed it my service engine light came on. I ran free scan on it and the error is MALF 42: EST Ground. I connected the green shift light tach wire to the white wire on the pcm. When i disconnect it my service engine light doesnt come on.Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

Did you use the one by the OBDII plug under the dash or did you route it out to the ECU?

If you used a good splice connector you should have been fine.

Why not use a wire off of the coil? I had an MSD shift light in my old car and that's what I used. I'm unsure if the Harlan is any different, though.
Mine was just a ground, power and signal wire...
