She's all back together, and running great. Few quickies...

OK, so there was a little adjustment to my plan being that someone had a LT4 hotcam sitting around. Instead of the CC305 or 306 I was planning on ordering today. I found a guy that had a new in the box hotcam. SO... needless to say that's what she got... SO as it stands she has 1.6 roller rockers, Ported and Polished Heads and port match ported and polished intake. Hardened pushrods, new comp cams springs and 2.00" intake and I think 1.56" exhaust. All emissions were removed, A/C deleted, new radiator, opti, wires, plugs, coil, waterpump. Pretty much everything since I had it off. I still have manifolds on her temporarily (don't yell at me ), but I have a 2OTL system coming next week and should have atleast a set of MAC shorties to throw on her sometime next month. Then once that is all done I'll send the computer off for programing. Now here comes the infamous question... What kinda of HP do you think I will be pushing once all the mods are on? I know its a guesstimate, but satisfy my curiousity, please.....

Now for the few questions I have:

First off, I took off the air pump and all related pipes. Capped the manifolds. Here's the oddity. I get no SES light. Not that I'm complaining, but shouldn't I be? I know it works because the SES light and fans come on when I unplug the MAF, weird....

Second, on my stock intake from car. It had a small 2 under the TB area on the intake. My new one has a 4 there. Does this mean what I think it means? It sure would be nice. How do you tell the difference in Intakes and Heads?

Third, Whoever the hell it was that told me that JB Weld would hold on exhaust manifolds, should be shot. I mean taken out to a field, beat with a stick and then shot and left for the crows. I now have the worst aroma and smoke coming from them whenever its running. Thanks buddy, whoever you are.

But thats it. Sorry for the long post, but I'm sooooo...excited.

Congrats on getting your car running again, I bet you were shaking abit when you 1st fired her up never mind going through withdrawals for not having driving her for the past 2 weeks or so.
I would guess 365RWHP till you get your program and headers, thats gonna choke you abit but who cares.
How does it drive ?
How long did it take you get get it back together?

That much HP, are you sure? I don't know seems a little too giving. Well, it took me two weeks total, but thats only because I was waiting on a radiator and A/C delete from Jason. I went from Cam to intake in about 8 hours spread over a couple of days. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been to forgiving here lately so that delayed me a bit. She runs absolutely perfect, I give the credit to the M6 for the fact that surging is a little less noticeable. But she's twice as loud. And I keep hearing a little voice saying, put the damn headers on me already I didn't drive it very far because it is midnight here and I just finished. I live on a Marine Corps base so I didn't want to **** the MP's off. Thanks for the reply

365 RWHP? I'd say more like ~320 at this point. More after a tune and exhaust and it also depends on what kind of job has been done on the heads.

As for the SES, OBDIs don't set SES on AIR pump removal....

Congrats on getting it done though!

You know what I find odd about that? I remember distinctly, that one time I pulled the fuse for the pump and it set off the SES. Is that true, or am I halucinating?

Yes, the fuse will set the SES but not if you remove it. I also did this on my 93 and same thing... no SES (before I programmed it. )

thats odd. So right now what do you think are the weak points in the stock programming? I'm just curious.

Maybe you guys are right, maybe my guesstimate of HP is off.
I was figuring the cam and the ported heads with 1.6RR's would do the job. my bad.

The timing and fuel tables need to be adjusted for the changes as well as some other things. Also you definetely need better exhaust (headers/catback) that's mainly why my estimation was so low, not because of the programming only.

Oh well, I know that's a must. Like I said I should have MAC shorties and will have a 2OTL setup coming next week. The 2OTL is supposed to be one of the best flowing exhausts out there right? With that in mind, what do you think after programming and with exhaust she will be pushing? LIke I said this is just to satisfy my curiousity....

Am I wrong, or did you mention once that Lloyd ported your heads?

Well, that is what I was told when I bought them. They are second hand. They have not been used and the guy produced documentation that they were done by Llyod Elliot. But weither they are in fact the same heads I do not know. I do trust the guy that I bought them from. So they should be.

Did the heads come with a flow sheet? Don't know if this means anything, but mine did and it has his business card attached. Do you plan on taking the ''Dark Mistress'' to the track? I'd really like to know how it performs with the Hot Cam and L. E. heads.
Good job and good luck.

I would say 320rwhp i a good estimate and 360rwhp once you get LT's and a tune. You might only see around 345rwhp with the shorties. There are so many variables, who knows.
