Shaky Motor

Hi i was just wondering if it's normal for our lt1's to be a little shaky at idle.My friend owns a 95 vette and his seems to be smoother at idle.I have slp headers on mine does that change the idle on the motor.

THANKS
NICK

headers shouldn't change the idle

you might have a misfire
that would cause it to jump around at idle, did you notice any hesitation while driving?? Go 30mph put it in 4th gear and go WOT, that might help to see if it has a miss.

Check wires headers love wires

The only way that headers will alter the quality of your idle would be from a burnt plug wire.

Yeah I noticed the same thing after my header/opti install and I double checked everything and all I can say is that a lil shake can shake all she wants cuz I did everything right.
I do however have a lil coolant concern. How much hotter does your engine run with headers on? Mine car seemed to be running pretty hot after header install so I threw a 160 stat in. The stock 180 was shooting my car up to 210-220, sometimes 230 at freeway speed. My car use to run 190-195 before I did the headers. I even changed the 180 stat with another 180 stat to make sure it was working, fan still had the puppy at 220. Anyhow, just wondering if temp increases after header install.

Thanks!

My Dad has a 95 Vette and the idle is perfect. Maybe it's a Vette thing.

I have installed a 160 stat with the hypertech proggraming, the temp gauge dosn't even reach one quater up.It just seems a little shaky at idle after the headers.
