SFCs welded in......now a weird clunk in the rear?

SFCs welded in......now a weird clunk in the rear?

more pronounced when making turns, and going over bumps/curves real fast.....any idea what it could be?

Are you sure all the lca bolts are tight? What kind of sfc's are they? Some (if not all) of them require you to remove the lca's before welding in the subframes. I would check the lca bolts first.

thats the way theyre supposed to look....the jackass didnt even weld the rears, and the bolts were pretty loose so i tightened them and no more clunk, but im going there tomorrow to bitch at them for not welding the rears

id say thats a less then fantastic looking welding job.....i had welds that looked like that a couple weeks after i first learned to weld in school last year.

its a link from BMR's website, not my car

if it was my car then why would it be welded? my cars SFCs arent welded in the rear thanks to the ****ing stupidity of floridians.......wish i still lived in NY

I dunno man, I think its just the area we live in. I have no problems like this when I am in Orlando, but in West Palm Beach I've had mechanics blow my PCM, among other things.

still clunks and is getting worse. bringing to muffler shop tomorrow to have this **** welded, will it get rid of the clunk

bmr subframes

You are not supposed to weld the rears of them. you need to get a torque wrench and tighten down the the bolts where the lca's, if you bothered to read the instructions(most people just trust the shop to do it all, my buddy did the same thing), it tells you in them. When they are just finished welding they are only supposed to be hand tight, then once your car is on the ground it is supposed to be torqued down to 90ft. lbs. I know this because I have bmr boxed subframes. -Michael

I had the same problem with my KB DD SFC's, but it went away after about 6 months.

so do you guys think once these are welded in the rear and the bolt is tightened more the clunk will go away?

ok I had them welded today. when I got home I tightened them with the car at height as much as I could. I still hear a clunk every so often and some squeaking. any suggestions?
