Is this setup worth $2150?

That is the price w/installation. It's a 355 lt1 longblock. I'm not sure about all of the internal numbers yet, but everything is forged. It's ready for NOS. As a matter of fact, it has been used w/NOS on it. The guy had it in his z28. It has less than 1k since the rebuild. He ran a 10.5 w/150 shot of NOS. It is advertised to have 400rwhp w/out the NOS. That 10.5 was run with non-stock suspension and rear end gears.

I have to find my own headers and clutch (Maybe you guys can help me with that)

The
Anyway, is it a good deal?

If it is everything he says it is, It's a very good deal. A set of ported heads and a cam to make 400whp will cost around 2k alone. Having someone install it at a shop would probably cost close to 1k. So if it indeed makes that kind of power grab it.

I would be a bit skepticle of that deal. It seems a bit too good to be true. The long block it's self is worth more that $2150. I would never sell and install it for that price. If it is what he says it is with 1k on it. A better price installed would be something north of 3k.

Just be carefull

P.S. I couldn't find the video.

I'm sorry, once you get to the site, you have to click on VIDEOS first. Then you scroll down.

As for the deal. I'm not sure if I said, but its a friend of a friend. That would explain why its such a deal.

Re: Is this setup worth $2150?

I did some negotiating, and he's going to throw in some Jet-Hot Hooker LT's, electric water pump, fuel system, and all gaskets and fluids needed for $2650 installed.

I found a y-pipe for $100 shipped

Found a Moroso CAI $115 shipped (with filter)

Got a Flowmast catback $90 shipped

I still need:
HO fuel pump,
clutch,
3.73's or 4.10's for stock 10-bolt

wow dude, you are geting a killer deal, just KEEP in mind that if things look too good to be true the prolly are, i would at least have a engine shop look it over first.

Re: Is this setup worth $2150?

I now come to find out that the heads are not ported. They're just port-matched to the gaskets or whatever.

So how much rwhp do you guys think I'm making with a port-matched intake, port-matched heads, Hooker longtubes, and a 355 forged and balanced rotating assembly with cc305 cam and 1.6rr's and Moroso CAI out of a T56?

The compression ratio is 11:1

I'm so pist off right now. I thought I was going to have to just get a GM847 cam and I'd be set at 500rwhp.

500 RWHP? With nitrous, yes, but with stock heads, you'd be lucky to hit 355-360 RWHP with what you have right now. GM847 + ported heads (depending on the port job) may hit 400 RWHP, but with stock heads, 360 RWHP tops.

Re: Is this setup worth $2150?

also scrap that stock 10bolt
w/ 350 or so rwhp (mods in sig) i snapped the stock posi in half, all the gears destroyed. I wouldn't suggest it with 350 rwhp, much less 400+ (or nitrous)

I need to scrap the 10 bolt even if I'm not using drag tires?

Re: Is this setup worth $2150?

Just a port match and a 305? Maybe 330rwhp, 335 tops.

Ditto, you got screwed. Port matched heads = stock heads. I would say 330rwhp is probably about right. No way you can get 500rwhp on ported GM LT1 castings if you are NA. I would say 400rwhp is about the most you can really get with just ported heads and a big cam.
