setting up for a 383
setting up for a 383
okay, come january or february, i want to take my block out and set it up as a forged 383. i want it to be strong NA as well as being able to handle a decent n2o shot.
you can see in my sig my current mods (the le2 cam will be swapped out of the 383 for, probably, the le3 cam). ive done quite a bit of reading about motors and had it set up pretty decent. however, ive been waiting until this year to redo the bottom end the way that i want it. ive got a good understanding of the top end and how everything works. now i'm just not exactly sure on how to set up the bottom end. is there any reading out there i can study up on to learn how to put a bottom end together the way that i want it? i understand that i could just tell someone what i'm looking for, but i'd also like to understand why i'm chosing the the parts that i end up going with.
also, where are some good places to buy 383 parts? ive skimmed over summitracing.com (although i have no idea which part i would go with) and found some decent kits for around $1900 (mostly eagle parts. i'm open to other options).
edit: basically, i'm looking for information to read up on to understand why i would choose a certain length rod. which dished pistons effect my setup in different ways. even if its a book in the library, feel free to let me know. i just want to learn more about the overall mechanics of the motor so i can understand and choose my own way to build my 383 based on my personal goals. thanks and all help is appreciated.
