SES light, rough idle, please help!
SES light blinks on and off at idle stop. Engine idles roughly and is between 500-800 RPM. Not consitant at every light, however it occurs most of the time. I haven't had a chance to have the code read yet though. I also had trouble starting the car twice today and I had to get on the gas to get the car to crank.
NOTE: Car has not stalled...
Please help, any information would be great. I know some will say, get the code read, and I am going to tomorrow, I just couldn't get that done today. Thanks!
Marc

Based on the fact that you had to "press" the gas to start it, it idles crappy and is throwing a code. I would say that it's running rich. Does it blow black smoke at all? We have to assume that you checked the usual culprits, like clogged air filter.
The problem could be a hole in the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. Check by looking at the FPR vac line to see if its wet with gas. You could also have a sticky fuel injector which bleeds fuel into the intake when the car is shut off. Both problems can be diagnosed by using a fuel pressure gage to see what happens to the pressure when the car is shut down. It should hold for quite a long time.
BTW Get it scanned.
just kidding it is the only way to know what the problem is
