Question SES Light On...P0441...EVAP Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow...FIX??

My comp keeps popping code P0441. I took the car to a Chevy Dealer, they supposedly fixed it. The SES light came on 2 days after picking the car up, with the same code. What needs fixed??

The EVAP system is not seeing vacuum during purge. Check the vacuum lines for leaks and make sure the line to the charcoal canister is not clogged.

First off, the car is a 97.
As for the rest of the emmisions system, it has all been replaced. The vacuum sol on the passenger side of the engine was replaced a year ago, along with the switch. The vacuum sol on the drivers side of the engine was replaced about 2 months ago, along with the charcoal canister. What is there left that I missed and the dealer missed? While the car was at the dealers last week, they replaced the IAT sensor and put a new gas cap on the car. They said that would fix the problem.

I had this same problem with my car a couple of years ago. It turned out to be a bad sensor. The system was working properly, but the sensor that triggers the ses light was bad, cost about $15 to fix. If I remember correctly it is on the passenger side of the intake manafold and it is round (about 1")

That's the switch he said was already replaced.

Did the dealership make sure the line from the engine to the canister was clear? Sometimes charcoal can get sucked into it and clog it. You should also make sure the hoses are not swapped on the solenoid. That will cause a problem, too.

The 2 items I replaced on the passenger side of the manifold were square. The vacuum sol was sguare as was the vacuum switch. The one on the driver side of the manifold that was replaced looks just like the one on the passenger side, the vacuum sol.
The only thing I havent done is check to see if the line from the charcoal canister is clogged.
The round switch you are talking about, does it screw into the manifold? or is it mounted on the manifold?

The vacuum switch is round (#11). It is what monitors flow of vacuum in the EVAP system and reports it to the PCM. If you had a solenoid replaced on the driver's side, it was for the EGR, not the EVAP.

I am having the same problem as well. I just recently had the fuel pump replaced from a local garage. When I brough the car to a GM dealer they said it may be because they didn't replace the seal when the replaced the fuel pump. Is this a possibility? I did clean out all the lines coming out of the charcoal canister, but the code still remains.

I couldnt tell you. My whole emission system has been replaced within the past year as of 2 days ago, and a vacuum test was done on the lines from the charcoal canister to the engine. Everything was fine. So far, no codes, So, Ill see what happens. But I couldnt tell you about the gasket on the sending unit. It is very possible though.

This may sound stupid, but I had a code 26 on a 1993 and I checked all the EVAP lines, etc like you have and what it came down to is the air pump fuse under the hood.

I guess, if you havn't checked the fuses and relays, that is where I would start?

I had the same code, and it was my charcoal canister leaking charcoal in the lines. tried cleaning out both solinoids, but still got codes, i then replaced both solinoids, and canister. the code never came back
