SES light after a new muffler
I did some mods to my car - new crane coil and 160 thermosat. I drove all around town trying to find a good cheap muffler shop. No SES light.
I had a hooker aerochamber (welded) installed to replace a flowmaster. Pick car up and drive to the next red light upon braking the car revs up to 2k then when I stop it dies. Started right up. No Problems.
Next day I remove and check my evap valve. I then drive to the post office I get a SES light. All gauges are normal. Check oil and water levels all good. Restart car and light is off. Driving to the gym the light comes on. After gym and on the way come this time I clocked the problem 10 minutes and the light came on. I turned the car off at a red light restart and its off. Drive home with no SES light.
Besides paying 50-75 to get the code read is their anything I can do first?

Sounds stupid but check some of your fuses. I had a similar problem with mine and all it ended up being was the air pump fuse. There is only about 10 to check. Just a thought before you go and spend a bunch of money. Also the SES light is not really that big of deal. Mostly smog related from what I understand. Its the other light you have to worry about.

I am leaning toward emissions mostly because the ses only happens after at least 10min of driving.
