SES Light

Every once in a while, my 'Security' light comes on while driving. Could this cause my SES light that comes on when the engine warms up, which is what has been happening the last few days. I assume the 'Security' light is tied to the VATS, and sometimes I try to remote start/key start the car and it fails, leaving the Security light on and disabling the ignition for 5-7 minutes. Not sure why it does that. Could all this be tied together to cause the SES light?

Re: SES Light

The security system is separate from the PCM. Probably unrelated issues.

The security light is likely because it is not reading the key pellet all the time. Get a scan to see what the SES is for.

Re: SES Light

Cool, thanks for the reply. I might look into a new key then. Why would the Security feature kick in when I remote start occasionally? Is there a way to disable the Security feature? I'll get my car scanned Monday or Tuesday and give an update. Hopefully nothing major.....

Re: SES Light

You did not mention remote start in the first post. Doesn't the key pellet have to be bypassed for remote start? I mean, your key is not in the ignition when you activate the remote start, so the VATS has to be faked out somehow. Could be whatever they put in there for the bypass is jiggling loose.

Re: SES Light

Code 29: AIR CIRCUIT

Would that be the AIR? Or is it a sensor? I assume it's malfunctioning because I am missing a header bolt.
