SES light
SES light
hello all,
I installed a 95 engine, wiring harness and PCM into my 93 camaro, the engine is running ok, but when I first startup I get a SES light for about 5-10 minutes then goes away. I don't have a way to check the engine codes and was wondering if anybody might be able to shed some light on my ses light.
I have installed a LT4 KM, new LT1 knock sensor, new oil pressure sensor, new plugs and 8mm taylor wires, new coil, new O2's, water temp sensor (in the waterpump and drivers side head) and a new fuel pump (walbro 255gph) & fuel pump relay.
My fuel pressure is right at 40psi, and when I am driving it goes as high as 50psi.
Like I said above, the car seems to be running ok, but its lacking power, my engine before was a built 355 with stage II heads and cam. I have never driven a stock LT1 camaro so I am not sure if its the engine, or me expecting more power.
Any help is greatly appricated.

take your car to an auto parts store like advanced, autozone pep boys, napa. and they have a code reader to scan your car. if it comes on when you start the car and then just turns off that sounds weird. soudns like its not recognizing something at start up and 10-15 seconds later it acknowledges. i dont know weird i guess!
I thinking you are prolly use to the 355. The lt1 prolly feels a lil different from the 355. That is strange you only get it at start-up though. Go to one of them stores listed above and have it scanned.
Hello, my main problem is that the DLC connector under the dash is for a 93, not a 95 so there different. Thats the only thing they didn't send me when I bought the engine, wiring harness and pcm.
I would love to take it somewhere and find out, but it seems the only way I can do that is to send it to PCM4Less or someone who can tune to find out. Kinda sucks. I plan on wiring in a new DLC connector, but not sure when that will be.
If anyone else can chime in, I would appricate it. I do realize its kinda hard to say what the SES light is for since we can't tune it.
Is there anybody in northern VA with a stock LT1 that can take me for a ride... so I can see what it feels like.
Thanks again to everyone who responded.
