SES Light

I just recently got a 97 30th ann. Z28 6 spd and I put it in for service shortly after to replace power window motors, a tailight socket, and the serpintine belt....on the way home from the dealer the Service Engine Soon light came on and hasnt gone off yet (been 2 days). The car is driving great and I hear no funny sounds. The only thing is that the exhaust is louder than I would expect on a normal LT1..lots of backpressure..I just assumed it was an opening in the muffler or maybe even aftermarket piping with the stock tips...anyways I was curious as to whether the light would be on because they did not reset something when servicing it so now the light thinks it hasnt been in for oil change or whatnot..or whether it is caused by something in particular....if it is just a matter of reseting the light, how do I do that? and if not, should I just take it to service and have them check it out?

There are literally 100's of things that can turn on the SES light. Since it just came from the shop, why not ask them to check it to see if they impacted something, or forgot to connect something? Or, some AutoZone stores will scan your car for free. Just be sure to get the EXACT 4-digit P-code. There are online lists of the codes that will help you figure out what is wrong - the code lists AutoZone uses tend to be "generic" and not manufacturer or model specific, and can be misleading. Could be as simple as a loose gas cap - did you buy fuel on the way home?
