pkay the connections are okay this all started after i did a comp test and i forgot to pull the ign fuse and just pulled the coil wire. it takes a long time to start and hesitates when cold but runs perfect and starts up fine when warm. is this a simple fix do i need to replace the whole opti? the high resolution code means the circuit is too low or high of a reading pleas ehelp I am desperate.
is there anyway that the problem could be the crank position sensor? it started when i cranked the car too much during comp test and also the tach went out after and the starting problem occurred. let me know help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is your SES on? Maybe it's an old code.
The code means any of these:
open circuit
short to voltage
short to ground
defective module within the opti
Make sure there is no corrosion on the terminals down in the opti. It can be hard to spot.

but it does not mean the whole opti is bad right? the code was 372 you looked it up did it say any spebifics if it was an open circuit or what? thanks for your help keep it coming I really appreciate it

You did not say if the SES is on, now.
BTW, the crank sensor has nothing to do with spark timing on our cars. It is only there for misfire detection.
the ses would be on but i took the bulb otu, can you explain not having a tach and the car runs perfect when it warms up and starts up fine when warm? thansk shoebox I am just trying to figure something out that might be easy fix this all happened right after the comp test. nothing wrong at all before what do you think also how do you clean the harness and connections with? carb cleaner?

The only thing I can guess is the optical sensor in the optispark has an illness. Either that or the wire the carries the high resolution signal does. Another remote possibility would be the pcm.
Use electrical cleaner and/or some mechanical means.
Not sure about your tach. Maybe because of the high resolution loss or is it really the pcm????
shoebox you are the man, if it was the pcm wouldn't it through other codes to show that? what is weird is the car runs fine when warm what could that mean maybe it is pcm? if it was opti it would misfire at any temp. right?
