Serpentine Belt

I know i have to remove the serpentine belt for my header install and i was wondering if i had to have a special tool for the belt tensioner. Or does can you just use a socket and wrench on this? If so how hard is it to remove with those?

I just remember a few years ago when i was helping my neighbor with his car he had to go get some special tool from autozone to help remove the belt. It may have just been a big extension bar with a socket on the end.

Thanks

I cant remember the exact size, but I think it is a 15 mm socket and you just pull the tensioner down. No special tool required and it is super easy.

Alright cool that's what i figured is you just get a socket and wrench and rotate it counterclockwise i was just making sure so i don't run into problem when trying to install my headers.

It's a 13mm on my car. You turn it clockwise.

Re: Serpentine Belt

It'll take you longer to jack the car up than it will to replace the belt.
