Serious head choice opinions need for my 383
As most of you know Im in the middle of a budget 383 build up. The shortblock is ready to be assembled within the next week or two and the heads are the only thing holding up the completetion of the motor.
Here is the scenario....I was orignially going to use my GTP stage II heads until I got my hands on some LT4 heads and intake in a trade for all of my A4 swap parts + cash. I then tossed around the idea of selling the GTP's and investing the money into having the LT4s ported. Then it was suggested that I should go with an aftermarket head such as an AFR 220 cc LT4 head as is with no porting....
Here is my problem.....The whole motor has been budget so far and the heads need to be the same way...I would be able to invest money into getting the best heads I can but breaking even as close as possible is necessary...
So here are my options going from cheapest to most expensive
1. Keep the stage II GTP's, sell the LT4's with the intake, and put what I make back after the swap into the GTPs for more porting...(flow numbers ~270ish)
2. Keep the LT4's(lose some money on the swap)sell the GTP's with intake and put the money into getting the LT4's worked.(Flow numbers ~295ish)
3. Sell the GTP heads with matching intake, along with the LT4 heads, keep the intake and get an AFR 220cc LT4 head. The AFR's would have to stay as is with no porting due to $$ constraints.(Flow numbers ~300ish)
Which is better as far as potential, money spent, and flow numbers.....
What would you guys do?

Just an opinion but I would keep the LT4 intake and heads and sell the GTP heads and intake. Take the proceeds from the sale of the GTP stuff and invest in the LT4 heads and intake.
If you go the LT4 route you may want to consider AI porting and their LT4 Package

Not as of yet, I need a fuel pump that can keep up (383 w/306 cam), I was going to go soon but my opti is taking a dump so my fuel pump money is going towards it. I will post track times as soon as I can get to the track.
I don't know what to do about your heads situation, I would prolly say to port the LT4s since they have the most potential and you already have them.

Keep the 195's. They'll work well for your current build up with plenty of room to grow.
220's are ALOT of cylinder head for a street motor. Port size = potential, not power.
