Unhappy serious feedback needed

I'm building an LT1 motor to slip into my '95 Z, but I have some serious concerns that I'm totally unsure about. What kind of Mods can I do before I need to start changing the computer and programming. And where do I go for something like that? Please help me out. Send E-mail to Phoenix81@ameritech.net or post here. Thanks guys.

Why don't you give us a better idea of your goals for the car, your budget, preferences, etc.? If you do, you will probably get a ton of useful replies.

the stock motor has been blown so i'm building a new motor, i want to make the motor a lil' more than stock...stock bore, larger cam, and decking the heads a little. I don't know quite what I can alter without changing the computer. I also want to use a gear to gear timing set...so i know I'll need an upgraded knock module. It'll be a daily driver so I cannot go to wild with it. Money is a bit tight but can and will flex for good parts.

first off, if your gonna build a motor ...do it right. if you want a lil more than stock, the LT4 HOTCAM is great!!!!, this with some ported heads(regular LT1) will be fine, you will need the LT4 knock module!!!

second, you can't build a good motor with out reprograming for a cam, if your gonna do things do them right, dont be cheap, pcmforless.com can set u up with the program for 100$.

third, you can't use a gear to gear timing chain without some serious thought!!! the waterpump is cam driven, as well asOPTISPARK, YOU MUST YOU THE REGULAR STYLE CHAINS . If you want a better chain, use the LT4 heavy duty chain, or the colyes roller!!!

a motor with:

hotcam
ported heads
1.6 rr
headers (this is a must)

should be over 320 hp maybe more depending on the port job and headers!!!!

anyways, hope that helped!!!!
