Post a series of issues

Hello all,
I am a new member, (obviously) and have a 94 Z28, M6 and some bolt ons. I have had the car for about 4 years and haven't had too much problem. The car is now reaching 130k and the list of things it needs is growing at a rapid rate. My first question is about rough idle. I attended the Barrett-Jackson auction in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago and it took aproximately 45 minutes in bumper to bumper gridlock to get into the show. after about 30 minutes my car started idling very bad. when I would give it gas it sounded like it was going to die untill I got the revs over 2000. The car shook and felt like it was on 7 cyl. and there were popping sounds out of the exhaust when I would rev. This was after running great on the freeway for the last hour at 80MPH.

Second issue is this...
When I drive to work in the morning, it is a 20 minute sprint on the freeway followed by a stop and go session through 5 lights down a busy street. The car does great on the freeway temp-wise, but by about the third light I have to turn the AC ON to get the gage from creaping up to the highest white line on the guage. Whenever the AC is on, the car never gets over half on the guage. Is it possible that my primary fan is not working and the AC fan is what is fixing the issue? By-the-way, it NEVER overheats. If I leave the AC off and it goes to the high mark, it will come back down after a while idling or start moving down the road.
Thanks for any insight you all may have.
Tim

First off, have you changed the plugs and wires yet? and second, your primary fan should be working fine, the high speed fan doesn't turn on unless the motor reach's about 240 or you turn the AC on, this has been an issue with all camaro's since i beleive about 88, the 5 camaro's that i've owned (exept for the 73) all did the same thing, its absolutly normal, best thing to do it buy a fan switch or make your own and wire it up yourself, but what i think you should do is jsut keep doing what you're doing, when it gets hot turn the AC on, it jsut puts a little more drag on the motor becuas eyou're running the AC, but this is all normal!

The plugs were changed 2 years ago and wires were changed by the first(original) owner at around 65k. I plan to change them within the next month as that crossed my mind. Also as for the first problem, it sat in the parking lot for 6 hours and we got in it and it drove beautifully all the way home. NO symtoms.
