My problem is when i first started my 94 z28 this morning the SECURITY light came on and was on while the car was running... Well i figured it would go off when i would restart it but it did, so for the whole day the light has been shining bright in my eyes and not causing any problems...

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

there is something abuoit this in the manual... check it out

 

When the light comes on while driving, it usually means there was a failure in the theft deterrent system detected (but obviously after the engine was running). In this case, the system will continue to allow you to operate the car and will not keep it from starting. There is also no theft protection during this time. It can very well be caused by the module not detecting the key. If whatever is wrong is corrected, the lamp will go out by itself after a few minutes.

 

Yeah i tried everything and nothing is working so i guess im gonna have to go to the dealer

 

my security light has been on for over 2 1/2 years since I bought the car. No problems yet!
