Security light on, car starts?

Security light on, car starts?
All of a sudden a couple of days ago my cars security light came on. The car turns on fine but will also start with a non-vats key that I have. It sucks knowing that a thief can steal my car by breaking the column where I felt pretty secure before. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

my 93 started staying on last week,so I went to the book,and I replaced the #4 fuse(10 amp),<pass-key11 decoder module fuse>
I also replaced the #5 fuse(15 amp).
Seems to work so far(and you can't really judge the fuse by the way it looks,as mine looked good to the eye).
The fuses are on the left side of the dash.counting from left to right,1,2,3,4 ect.,then second row,5,6,7,8 ect.
The #4 fuse is for engine control module,instrument cluster;pass-key11 decorder module
The #5 is for engine control module;pass-key11 decoder module;Fuel pump relay.
If this doesn't work,then I'll try my other spare key.
