Secondary Air Injection Check Valve

I have a problem. The threads on the scd air injection pipe seperated and the valve is now hanging loose. There are still ~2 threads on the pipe fitting but now they're not tapered enough to fit the valve over them. Should I grind down the threads in order to make it tapered or should I replace the pipe and fitting?

I looked up the part numbers and what I need appears to be 10244578, also listed as AC-DELCO #219-209.

Also... The place that I had my headers installed at welded the fitting on the header. I can still remove it but is the fitting a seperate part from the pipe that I will need to get a replacement for? The reason for welding is supposedly that there was a leak, which I assume to be becasue they didn't bother with getting either the right fitting or adapter.

Any help would be appreciated. Until I get this solved I'm without a car.
