Sea Foam Works Great!!!

I went out and bought a can of sea foam today. I used it on the Camaro first and used the rest on my Maxima and wow what a difference. The throttle response is a night and day difference. My camaro has 142,000 miles on it and the maxima has 207,000 miles. I don't think either of them has ever had a fuel system treatment so it really helped. I also went out and got a spray bottle for it and I think it worked much better than it would have if I just dumped it right in. I got a nice smoke show out of both of them. The camaro didn't seem to have much of a problem with it. The idle just dropped down a little bit. My maxima on the other hand didn't like it. It started to run like crap at first and threw a few engine codes. After I drove them both around for a while and blew all the crap out, they both ran much better. They both had a much better throttle response and increase in performance. If anyone hasn't done this to their car and it has high miles, I would highly recommend doing this. You won't be sorry.

It's supposed to be safe for cats and o2 sensors. My friend who is a mechanic told me he uses it on his customers cars as part of a fuel treatment and wouldn't be allowed to use it if it damaged any part of the emmissions system including the cat.

It says you can use it in your oil but i'm not gonna put it in my oil. I was gonna use half in the vacuum hose on the camaro and dump the rest in the tank but it worked so well that I used the rest on my other car.

Re: Sea Foam Works Great!!!

All you do is unhook the vacuum hose to the brake booster and spray it in there. There aren't really any directions on the can on how to do this. You can also get sea foam deep creep which is a spray can if you don't wanna do what I did which is put it in a spray bottle and spray it in. All you do is spray it in and watch the smoke show when you rev it. I think the affect of it also has something to do with the miles on the car. My friend used it on his and he only had about 20,000 miles on his car and he said he didn't really notice a difference. On the other hand I used it on a car that had 140,000 miles and one with 207,000 miles and I noticed a hell of a difference. Thats the best $6 i've ever spent on my car.

What I did was run the engine on one bank while adjusting valves on the other. This accomplished two things. With plug wires pulled it kept exhaust cooler to prevent smokey environment when stray squirting oil hit exhaust, and it also cleaned up the valves by running the raw gas thru the heads. With this, didn't see a need for any products that are dumped in. Made a diff with improved throttle crispness.

Re: Sea Foam Works Great!!!

A/G it also washed your cylinders down pretty well and did nothing for your combustion chambers.

Yes. It's called sea foam and if you go on their web site it will tell you who carries it. I got it from advanced auto. I know advanced auto, pep boys, and napa carry it but there are many others that do also and are listed on their web site. Autozone does NOT carry it.

Re: Sea Foam Works Great!!!

only use seafoam in the crank case 5min before you change the oil.... otherwise if you leave it in there, it will wipe the bearings out. And autozone here carry's it and so does oreilly's

The stuff worked pretty well for me and my friends as well. Heard some horror stories of it messing stuff up but thus far no problems.
