Screw the Lt1 or not?

So my moms telling me to sell my lt1 96 and buy a 2002 camro SS 6speed black (shell pay the difference in price). right now i have a A6 with 130K miles but the car is in almost brand new condition. Should i keep my lt1 and do a 383 stroker and modify and upgrade it or should i just f uck it and get the ls1?

Wow, can i have your mom?

A6 in your car? wow thats pretty rare! hehe

Well, if it were me, without a doubt i'd take her up on that offer and get the SS. Thats one hellva car. But i would be expecting to pay a quite of bit in difference for that SS. 130k is alot of miles and i dont see you getting that much for it, even if it is awesome shape. What are u planning to get for it?

Also, if you wanted to save your mom the money,THEN i say go all out a build a bomb a** with that LT1. Stroker that puppy up!

That sounds like a great deal on the outside, but....

Insurance is probably going to be way more than what you have now just due to the fact that it's a new car.

May want to look at that.

well, if insurance isn't an issue, and she's really willing to pay the $10,000+ difference in price for an LS1, I'd jump on it!

LOL I meant A4 hahah, and im planning on getting 10K for my car hopefully. My rims and tires cost around $3600 and my stereo system is over $1400, leather interior with t-tops and alot of other little things.

If you sell it yourself you might get that much but if you plan on going to a dealer they tend to not give a **** about that other stuff unfortunately so you'll get significantly less. I'd definately take her up on that offer though. How did that come about anyways? I'm curious

The LS1 is a far superior engine in every aspect, but if u like your car and have some good money to invest in it and make it fast id keep it...Also if reliability is a issue/daily driver you might wanna go w/ the newer car.

I think itll be way more than 10k difference, but I say jump on that like a 18 yr old virgin! Pull your stereo and return it to a normal as possible condition, try and put the stock rims on and trade it in! If my mom offered to trade both my vehicles for a 2002 SS I would do it!

Agreed, without a second though i'd jump on the SS too.
How many miles are on the SS?

18 yr old virgin? Are there still 18yr virgins out there? hehe

Who cares how much he'll get for his car?!?!?! His mom's gonna take care of it!!!!!

I like the LT1, but there are a few reasons to go for the SS.

-More collectible if you decide to keep it(you would want to)
-Faster out of the box
-Responds to mods very well
-Better gas mileage(six speed)

Oh and I don't think there are 18 y/o virgins out there anymore either. I would jump on one if I saw it though

well, sorry to be the one to burst your bubble, but i doubt you will get $10k for a 96 lt1 with 130k miles.

wheels/system dont add much value to the car.

youre probably better off selling the wheels seperate for 1500-2k, and try to get 6-7k for the car.
