Scorpion Rocker Amrs

well i just got this car about a month ago and im finally getting to go over it pretty good. i took the valve covers off and it had 1.5 ratio rocker arms and there is a scorpion on them. so im guessing the brand is Scorpion. anybody ever had any experience with these things? they are blue in color. thanks

They aren't as widely used as the Comps or Cranes, but they are still a good rocker arm.

I think they are cheap....lots of people do not like them.
I think they are fine in a mild app. but they are a mid grade rocker at best

Frankly I would compare or even place them above the GMPP and Cranes everyone loves so much. Scorpion just does not waste so much on marketing. Well I suppose "waste" is the wrong term because with as feeble minded as the masses are these days a good marketing plan absolutely will result in more earnings than a superior product.

Do I think ProMagnums are better, yes but that does not mean any of the others mentioned are bad.
Actual experiance says the ProForm rockers are even decent.
My only experiance with the Scorpions was a dirt track car I helped with for several years, sustained 5500-7500 on a 1/2 mile dirt oval with a solid roller cam is a whole lot of abuse and we never had an issue.

That there can be tricky, using a 1.7 rocker along with an aftermarket cam grind can create some major valvetrain geometry headaches.

scorpion's are rather useless for anything other than a stock cam. even then you're just getting a bunch of lift and still the same ole duration that keeps you flat lined on the dyno.
